Where do you read? Part 1

These days I mostly read while I am on the bus travelling to and from work. However, I do actually have favourite places to read and some books I have loved more, simply because I have read them in the right atmosphere. I have a few favourite reading spots that I want to share with you, here is the first one. On this beach in the Italian town of Levanto - close to the Cinque Terre - I have spent some wonderful hours reading only interrupted by an occasional forray into the turquoise water.

Lying in the sun, listening to the people chatter around me in Italian and smelling the salty water, I got lost in the world of "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas. Every time I read little snippets of this book, I feel myself transported back there and it makes the book even better than it already is! Have you any favourite reading spots?

  1. Nothing that exciting: I like to read n the couch, in bed and at the beach. Least favourite spot is in a squished commuter train.

  2. that's a beautiful picture and your reading spot sounds idyllic :-) I like to read in coffeeshops or the library. I fall asleep if I read on the couch, LOL.

  3. Anywhere - bed is one of my favourite places though, especially when it is cold and damp outside.

  4. Thanks for your comments. I like reading in bed as well, tucked under the duvet. Or anywhere where I can enjoy a warm cup of tea while I read.

  5. I think a place like that could easily become my favorite spot too :)

I love to read in bed although the only problem is if I'm very tired then I may start falling asleep.

  7. Pretty much anywhere. On the train back and forth to work, in bed, the recliner, standing in line, wherever I can really. Beautiful picture.

  9. I like the idea of reading in interesting places, but if I'm in an interesting place, I can't concentrate! So I prefer my living room couch.
